Notice on the Selection of LST/SCIUV Observation Periods
Observations are recommended to be prioritized during April to September.
During this period, the Earth is near aphelion, and the apparent solar disk is smaller, allowing the coronagraph occulter to more effectively block the solar disk and thereby reducing the effects of stray light and ghost images. However, observations during this period are affected by Earth's shadow, resulting in partial data loss each day.
From January to March and from October to December, the Earth is near perihelion, and the observational data will be more strongly affected by stray light and ghost images.
